– The legendary Taj Mahal has been added to an already stellar line-up in support
of “A Concert for Curtis” set to perform in the
Theater of the Clouds at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Oregon on June 13, 2006.
KINK FM 102 will welcome the Curtis Salgado Band along with special guests, Steve Miller, Robert Cray, Taj Mahal, Everclear, The Phantom Blues Band and Little Charlie & the Nightcats in a benefit concert to support Curtis Salgado in his battle with liver cancer.
All net proceeds will be donated to the “Curtis Salgado Fund” in an effort to help pay for treatment and a future potential liver transplant.
The after show party for golden circle ticket holders, volunteers and ticket winners will be treated to a special performance by the Bobby Torres Ensemble.
The singer-songwriter and harmonica idol was raised in Eugene, OR where he is best known as the inspiration for John Belushi’s character of Joliet Jake in the Blues Brothers as well as his six year involvement with the Robert Cray Band.

The former Handy Award nominee has currently been working in Nashville, TN on new material for his next album as a follow-up to his last three critically acclaimed CDs for Shanachie Entertainment.
